I am an Australian and internationally trained cataract, refractive and corneal surgeon. I graduated with Honours from the University of Pretoria and completed my higher specialist training in Ophthalmology in Adelaide, South Australia. Following my specialist training, I pursued a further two and a half years of advanced sub-specialty fellowship training in cornea and external eye diseases, advanced cataract and laser eye surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital under world-renowned Refractive and Laser Eye Surgeon Professor Michael Goggin.
Under the guidance of Professor Goggin, I acquired the latest surgical techniques in laser eye surgery, corneal transplantation, and advanced cataract surgery. Following my formal post graduate fellowship training, I completed a 1 year post graduate diploma followed by a 3 – year Master’s degree in Cataract and Laser Eye Surgery through the University of Sydney. To this day I am the only laser eye surgeon in Western Australia who has undergone formal post-graduate training in the sub-specialty of Refractive Surgery and who holds a post graduate degree in the sub-specialty of Refractive Surgery.

I have a special interest in laser eye surgery, cataract surgery and the management of reading vision problems known as Presbyopia. I also manage a a wide range of disorders affecting the cornea including keratoconus, eyelid disorders and glaucoma.

I am regarded as one of the leading laser eye surgeons in the world and is one of less than a 1000 ophthalmologists worldwide who holds a Board Certified Fellowship from the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences. I have dedicated my whole professional career to Laser Eye Surgery and advanced vision correction including cataracts.

Over the past 20 years I have had the absolute pleasure of helping tens of thousands of patients of various ages improve and maintain their vision. Helping patients to free themselves from the burden of glasses and contact lenses is my passion.

To perform microsurgery on the eyes requires exceptional surgical skill and acumen. To perform all types of eye surgery and any other ocular surgery at a world class level requires expertise along with access to state of the art and the world’s best equipment. For this reason I have spent a total of 17 years training and perfecting my surgical armamentarium and spared no cent to acquire the best and most advanced diagnostic, surgical and laser equipment in the world to provide my patients with world class care.
